Shani is dreaded by Hindus, especially by those who believe in astrology. Many people observe an Upvaas or fast to avoid the adversities and misfortunes on Shanivar or Saturday. It is believed that those who have the blessing of Lord Hanuman are protected from the wrath of Shani. Therefore many people make it a point to worship Hanuman at home or in temples. Black is the preferred color on Thursday. Shani, one of the Navagrahas, is worshipped in numerous temples and there are also temples exclusively dedicated to Sani. Devotees who are observing Shanivar Vrat usually visit Shani shrines. Black colored items like sesame til, sesame oil, black clothes, and black gram whole are offered to Shani. It must be noted here that the color of the idol of Shani is always black in color. Those devotees who fast on Saturday only take a single meal that too in the evening after prayers. Food prepared usually consis ts of sesame til or black gram or any other black colored food item. Salt is avoided by many on the day.

वृष–स्वास्थ्य कमजोर हुनुको साथै काममा सफलता पाउन गारो पर्ला, सामान्य रोगब्याधले पनि सताउन सक्छ ।
मिथुन–अरुको काम धेरै गर्नु पर्ला जस पाउने सम्भावना कमै रहनेछ, काम गरे अनुसार फल भने थोरै मिल्ने समय छ ।कर्कट–स्वस्थ्यमा सुधार हुने भयकोले नया काममा ध्यान दिएमा मान सम्मान मिलनेछ, ।

सिंह–बौद्धिक कार्यबाट थोरै भए पनि लाभ हुनेछ । व्यावसायिक काम बीचमा अवरुद्ध बन्न सक्छ ।

कन्या–कुराकाटनेहरु प्रसस्थ बढनेछन । ठूलाव्यक्ति हरुबाट आलोचना हुनेछ, कसैसंग बादविवादको पनि संभावना छ ।

तुला–हानी नै नगरे पनि काममा बाधा दिनेले खासै प्रगती हुन दिदैनन, जागीरमा पनि समस्या देखा पर्न सक्छ ।

वृश्चिक–आजको दिनमा तपाइले सोचेको काम पुरा हुन सक्छ, साथे पाहुना आगमनको पनि योग रहेको छ ।

धनु– आमदानिको नयाँश्रोत फेला पर्नेछ । भोजभत्तेरमा सम्लग्न भै ठूला व्यक्तिको विस्वास लिन सजिलै सकिने छ ।

मकर–विबाद बढने सामाजिक मर्यादामा संकट आउने काममा अवरोध आउने र मनमा चिन्ता बढने योग छ ।

कुम्भ–कुनै काममा नजिकको नातेदारको समर्थन पाउने दिन छ, रुपैयापैसा तथा अन्नको लाभ हुने दिन छ ।

मीन–आज तपाइको धनलाभको योग छ साथै दिन खुशी साथ बित्ने छ, परिवारमा पनि सुखको माहोल बन्न्नेछ ।
