प्रयोगकर्ताको हातबाट आइफोन भुइँमा खसेपछि फोनमा कम्पन सुरु भएको र तिव्र रुपमा धुवाँ निस्किएको थियो । आइफोन कामै नलाग्ने गरी ध्वस्त भएको छ । गत महिना मात्र प्रयोगकर्ताले आइफोन खरीद गरेका थिए ।

आन्तरिक पर्यटकमाझ पावरहाउसको नामले परिचित यो झरना समर वाटरफलका रूपमा आकर्षण बढ्दै गएको छ । फेवातालको पानी नहर हुँदै बिरौटा फाँट पुगि भूमिगत भइ निस्केको यो झरना करिब तीनसय मिटर माथीवाट खस्दछ । वर्षायाम सुरु भएसंगै असारको पहिला हप्तादेखि देख्न सकिने यो झरना कात्तिक महिनासम्म रहन्छ । वर्षायाम सुरु भएसंगै सुरु हुने यो झरना ५ महिनासम्म रहने भएकाले यसलाई समर वाटरफल नामाकरण गरिएको भट्टराईले सुनाए ।
पर्यटकीय सिजनको एक महिना अवधिमा एक सयभन्दा बढी विदेशी पर्यटक शान्ती स्तुप, पातलेछाँगो, गुप्तेश्वर गुफा हुदै झोलुंगेपुल र समर वाटरफल प्याकेज प्रोग्राम बनाएर घुमाएको अनुभव उनले सुनाए । पछिल्लो समयमा यो संख्या बढ्दै गएको उनले बताए ।

For someone who has whole-heartedly rebelled against any kind of label, it was ironical that it was I who had unexpectedly earned thousands of labels, some of which I did not even know existed in Nepali vocabulary.Maniram Jaisi of Raku-1 and two-month-old Abhishek Sarki of Gotri in Bajura were swept away on Thursday night. Namaraj Subedi, a relative of Jaisi, said they had not been able to locate them. The victims’ relatives have asked the local administration to declare them dead. “We have no hope that they will be found alive,” said Haja Sunar, daughter of Tamata. 
Deputy Superintendent of Police Kisansingh Budal said they had little hope of rescuing them alive. Floods and landslides in the local stream had killed four people in Kotwada on Thursday.According to the local administration, 20 houses were destroyed and 52 others affected.
Gebazaar residents are left in the lurch. Naresh Bhandari, a hotelier, said he had lost all his belongings.According to our Chitwan correspondent, two persons died in a flood in Riu Khola on Friday evening. Police identified the deceased as Bishnu Adhikari, 55, and Kalpana Thapa, 35, of Madi Municipality-12. The bodies were found in Dibyanagar area,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Shrestha. “They were swept away by the river while trying to cross the stream,” said Shrestha.
In Palpa district, seven houses of Sera village are at high risk of landslide along the Pipaldanda-Rampur stretch of Kaligandaki Corridor. “Soil and boulders have started flowing from the cliff,” Shanti Adhikari told our local correspondent.

आषाढको एक शुक्रबार को साँझ बुद्ध चोक बाट डेरामा फर्कने क्रम मा अलि ढिला भो । घर सम्म पुग्न लाई माइक्रो, अनि नगर बस सबैको आवात-जावत बन्द भैसेकेको थियो । हिडेर एक घण्टाको पैदल यात्रा गर्ने दुस्साहस मैले गरिनँ । त्यस कारण, ट्याक्सीको पखाईमा त्यसै उभिरहेको थिएँ । आडैमा एउटी युवती आई । मतिर पुलुक्क हेर्दै मुसुक्क मुस्कुराई । मैले पनि मुस्कुराएरै उसको आगमनको स्वागत गरेँ ।

सोधी – “दाई ट्याक्सी कुर्नुभएको ?”
“हजुर ।” मैले जवाफ दिएँ ।
“म पनि ट्याक्सी वेट गरिराखेको हेर्नु न अहिले सम्म एउटा भेटेको छैन ।” युवतीले दुखेसो पोखी ।
मैले प्रश्न गरेँ – “कहाँ जानुपर्ने ?”
“धेरै टाढा त हैन, लेकसाईड जरेबर सम्म पुग्नु पर्ने थियो ।” जवाफमा उसले भनी ।
उसको मुखबाट जरेबरचोक फुत्कदाँसाथ ममा नजानिदो उत्साह बढेर आयो । भनेँ – “ए, हो र ? म पनि त जरेबरचोक नै जान लागेको नी !”
“ला हो र ? उसो भए त मज्जा भो नी, हजुर अनि मेरो दुवैको फिप्टी प्रसेन्टेज पैसा सेभ हुने भो नी त । एक्लै जाँदा त ५०० लिन्छ । अब दुई सयमै पुगिने भईयो ।” उसले खुशी ब्यक्त गरी ।
मैले पनि समर्थन जनाएँ – “हो त ।” अनि यो पनि जान्न चाहेँ कि ऊ के गर्छे ?
संक्षेपमा भनी – “कलेज पढ्छु ।”
“कतिमा पढ्नुहुन्छ ?” मेरो भद्र प्रश्न थियो ।
उसकोे सरल जवाफ पाएँ – १२
“केहि जबसब पनि गर्नु हुन्छ कि ?” मैले उसलाई सोधेँ ।
धेरै खुल्न नचाहेर होला संक्षेपमै जवाफ फर्र्काई उसले – “खास्सै केहि गर्दिनँ !” र, यस्तो भन्दै गर्दा मुसुक्क मुस्कुराउन पनि बिर्सिने उसले ।
“अनि जरेबरचोक चाँहि किन जान लाग्नु भएको ?” मैले सोधेँ ।
जवाफमा भनिनँ – “मेरो डेरा नै उतै हो ।” अझ बढि जान्न मन लाग्यो त्यस कारण सोधिहालेँ – “को को बस्नुहुन्छ डेरामा ?”
“म मात्रै !” उसले जवाफ फर्काउदै भनी ।
“साँच्ची काम चाँहि केहि गर्नु हुँदैन ?” फेरि जोड दिदै सोधेँ ।
“अम् त्यस्तो खास केहि छैन । कलेज फि तिर्न, यहाँ बस्ने खर्च चलाउन र घरमा भएकी विधुवी आमा र दुई बैनीको पढाई खर्च सघाउनलाई सानो काम चाँहि गर्छु ।” सरसर्ती उसले बताई ।
“सानो काम ?” मैले आश्चर्यता प्रकट गरेँ । किनकी, मलाई अचम्म लाग्नुको कारण मलाई जान्नु थियो त्यो कस्तो सानो काम हो जसले यत्रा धेरै मान्छेको खर्च पु¥याउन सकोस् !
“आई एम अ कर्लगर्ल !” निर्धक्क साथ उसले भनी । अहँ ! ग्लानीबोधको सानो धर्सा पनि उसको मुहारमा झल्किएको देखिनँ मैले । म अवाँक रहेँ ।
धेरै बेर चुप लागेर बसेको देखे पछि उसले आफै सोधी – “विश्वास लागेन हजुरलाई ? अहिले पनि म यहाँ कसैले बोलाएर आएकी थिएँ तर यहाँ आईसकेपछि बोलाउने मान्छेले भन्यो उसकी श्रीमती अचानक माइत बाट फर्की रे भर्खर । त्यसैले डेरामा फर्किन लागेको अहिले ।”

म फेरि पनि निशब्दः रहेँ । तालचोक बाट ट्याक्सी हुत्तिदै हामीनेर आयो । युवतीले आवाज दिईन – “ट्याक्सी..”
“दाईको घर नै यता हो र ?” ट्याक्सी भित्र पस्नु भन्दा अगाडि केहिबेर अगाडि देखि स्थगित वार्तालापलाई पुनः सुचारु गर्दै युवतीले यस्तो प्रश्न गरीँ । जबाफमा मैले भनेँ –“यता हैन । पोखरा बाहिर हो ।”
ट्याक्सी चालकले युवतीलाई हेर्दै सोध्यो – “कहाँ सम्म ?”
मैले जवाफ फर्काएँ – “जरेबरचोक !” असहजिलो तरिकाले उसको दृष्टि मतिर सोझियो ।

Senior leader Hridayesh Tripathi was born on June 18, 1959 in Guneparseni-3 of Kathahawa. He is the son of Hari Shankar and Kunti Devi Tripathi. A graduate in political science from the Institute of Oriental Science, Russia, Tripathi plunged into politics by joining the leftist movement in 1974. He is a clever player of the politics who practically enjoyed his existence in as many political parties as he can. His modest beginning in politics was from the Communist Party led by Keshar Jung Rayamajhi. He was with the Nepal Sadbhavana Party (Anandidevi), before he and Mahanta Thakur of the Nepali Congress broke away to form the Terai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP) in the wake of the Madhes Andolan. He represented Nepal Sadbhavana Party (Anandidevi) in the dissolved House of Representatives. In the first Constituent Assembly Election of 2008, he received 10,029 votes from Nawalparasi-6, defeating his closest rival NC’s Debkaran Kalawar . Kalawar received 9,856 votes while another opponent UCPN-Maoist’s Rahit Prasad Kewat received 5,749 votes. Former vice chairman of TMDP and former deputy leader of parliamentary party, Tripathi was assigned with various portfolio of the cabinet in different time period. His political career includes two year underground life, 8 month exile and 21 month political prison.

Media of Pakistan has taken a drastic change in shape after 2001 when there had been a single state-owned channel and a few newspapers working strongly under the censorship board and rigid policies on broadcasting. The silhouette of media today in Pakistan is stronger than ever before, after the necessary amendments in the censorship rules to lift curbs on its freedom during the last decade. Now, as they say, Pakistani media is free to disseminate information without facing any barriers; yet, as a logical Pakistani I still question the influence of such unprecedented freedom and the benefits our journalists and media personnel are deriving from it. The media that should have been the mirror of society is now, taking full or if rightly said, no benefit of the freedom of expression, focused on sensationalism stirring sensitivity and criticism. A country where the real issues are socio-economic, where the masses of people are living in terrible destitution, where there is a declining status of institutions with unaffordable higher education system and abnormal price escalation, the media is directed and so very much busy in broadcasting and honoring the birth of the royal child or the marital separation of some elite political leader and the knot tying of some infamous cricketer. Where we are leading the young minds and what influences we are leaving for the international world?
