The Legislature-Parliament today approved the Convention on the Convention on the Prohibition of Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction.A parliament meeting today passed the Convention also knows as the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) by majority. Prior to this, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat tabled a proposal at the meeting, seeking the approval of the Convention.Taking part in the deliberations on the proposal, lawmakers Ram Narayan Bidari, Ganeshman Gurung, Ramhari Subedi and Anuradha Thapa Magar underlined the need of Nepal’s clear position regarding the control of the production of chemical weapons in the international forum.
