Indian President Pranab Mukherjee arrived in Nepal on a three-day state visit on Wednesday.President Bidya Devi Bhandari received her Indian counterpart at the VVIP lounge at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).The state guest is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with his Nepali counterpart today itself.President Bhandari will also host a state banquet this evening in honour of Indian President Mukherjee.The government has announced public holiday today in honour of the visiting Indian President.Upon his arrival at the TIA, a troop of Nepal Army had provided guard of honour to Indian President Mukherjee.Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal will also meet Mukherjee today itself.Mukherjee will visit the Pashupatinath Temple for a puja and attend a function hosted by the Kathmandu University to honour him with an honorary degree on November 3.The Indian President will attend a civic reception in Kathmandu.
